GlobaLinks Learning Abroad has forged strong partnerships with organizations overseas which support our students on-site and provide important health and safety measure in-country for all participants during their time abroad. Each of our partners overseas supports students through:

  • Placement and housing allocation
  • Onsite orientation upon arrival specific to the city/country
  • Health and safety support

 

Active Learning Abroad

GlobaLinks Learning Abroad and Active Learning Abroad have forged a unique partnership to provide high quality study abroad opportunities in Spain. Active Learning Abroad (ALA) is GlobaLinks’ partner and overseas office for all students studying for a summer or semester at a university in Spain. The ALA offices and staff in Barcelona, Seville, Salamanca, and Madrid work closely with GlobaLinks Learning Abroad staff in the U.S. to provide all students with services and support throughout the experience. This ensures that each student has an individualized experience both during the pre-departure stage and while in country. The ALA team in Spain delivers the Bridging Cultures Program onsite and Discovery Activities throughout the semester or summer and are also available 24/7 for emergency support.

Active Learning Abroad was developed through the expertise of Arturo Jarque who has been actively involved in international education in Spain for more than 20 years. Dr. Jarque was born in Alicante where he lived and studied until he moved to the USA. He has a Ph.D. in Contemporary Humanities and a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography and History from the University of Alicante. He also has a Master of Arts from Louisiana State University and was a Fulbright researcher at Georgetown University in Washington D.C.

Dr. Jarque has served thousands of students in a variety of roles at Spanish universities as well as with American and Spanish international education organizations. Professionally speaking, Dr. Jarque was Director of Hispanic Studies for North American Universities at the Universidad de Alcalá, Madrid for nine years and Regional Director and General Manager in Spain for a well-known American study abroad organization for almost seven years. Dr. Jarque was also a teacher for years and has had extensive experience in both the Spanish and American university systems developing academic programs and providing academic related services for American students.

Dr. Jarque and his team are dedicated to providing a rewarding study abroad experience for all students. Academic rigor, customer attention and wellbeing of participants are three main considerations.

 

Euroace

GlobaLinks Learning Abroad and Euroace have developed a unique partnership to provide high-quality internship opportunities in Valencia, Spain. Euroace is GlobaLinks Learning Abroad partner and overseas office for all North American students interning in Valencia. Euroace has staff that will work closely with GlobaLinks Learning Abroad to provide all students with services and support throughout the experience. This ensures that each student has an individualized experience both during the pre-departure stage and while in-country. This includes sourcing internships placements, arranging housing, facilitation of our Bridging Cultures orientation program, and 24/7 emergency support.

Euroace is a skilled team with more than 6 years of facilitating international education programs such as professional internship, faculty-led short-courses, and language immersion. Euroace operations are overseen by Isabel Torrecillas, one of the company’s founders. Isabel has ample experience with academic programs for study abroad students. She as two bachelor’s degrees in both English and German Philosophy, as well as a degree in tourism from the University of Valencia. Isabel and her staff look forward to providing the participants with a enriching cultural and career-building experience in Valencia.

 

It's a Global World

GlobaLinks Learning Abroad and It's a Global World have joined in partnership to provide our same provide high-quality internship opportunities in Santiago, Chile. It's a Global World is GlobaLinks Learning Abroad's partner and overseas office for all North American students interning in Santiago. It's a Global World has staff that will work closely with GlobaLinks Learning Abroad to provide all students with services and support throughout the experience. This ensures that each student has an individualized experience both during the pre-departure stage and while in-country. This includes sourcing internships placements, arranging housing, facilitation of our Bridging Cultures orientation program, and 24/7 emergency support.

The staff at It's a Global World have more than 9 years of placing students in career-building experiences. The company is run by Alejandra Mendez and Ana Camus. Alejandra directed the internship program for Harvard University's David Rockefeller Latin America Center in Santiago before deciding to start her own company. She placed hundreds of students into internships in Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, and Peru. Ana Camus also worked for the Latin America Center arranging Faculty Led Programs. Both Alejandra and Ana understand all of the components, services, and support required of a quality internship program.

Next Step Connections is an energetic team of dedicated professionals who all share the same goals of providing valuable professional training and networking opportunities in Shanghai and Hong Kong through an international internship experience.

The exclusive relationship between GlobaLinks Learning Abroad and Next Step Connections ensures you will have the guidance and support prior to departure, on-site and upon your return. Next Step Connections works continuously in-country to develop and maintain relationships with all types of companies to ensure that young professionals have meaningful internship experiences. They develop solid relationships with the internship sites taking great care to select internship supervisors whose leadership encourages interns to identify a potential career path to keep them competitive in the global job market and begin the process of building a professional network in their career field. The internship experience allows you to shadow your supervisor during meetings, take on complex tasks, volunteer your services or skills to another department for a more comprehensive experience, develop your working style, and learn insights on your chosen career field.

In total, Next Step Connections has accumulated more than 60 years of work experience in China. Of their employees, 50% are from the United States and Europe and the other 50% from mainland China. Next Step Connections' head office is located in downtown Shanghai and they also have an office in Hong Kong.
