Public Transportation in France

France is well-known for its excellent transportation system, including high speed trains, buses, and ferries. Travel is efficient, punctual, and very comfortable. Smaller towns without train stations are generally linked by bus service to the nearest station.

Lille is strategically placed within a 300-km radius of 5 major European capitals: Paris, London, Brussels, Luxembourg, and The Hague. Its highly-developed transport systems such as the Euro-tunnel and TGV-high speed trains enable students to travel around France and Europe very easily by rail.

Sample travel times for some key locations from Lille are:

  • Paris: 58 minutes
  • Disneyland: 1 hr 15 mins
  • Les Châteaux de la Loire : 3 hours
  • La Côte d’Azur (“The French Riviera”): 5 hours
  • London (Great Britain): 1 hour 40 minutes
  • Brussels (Belgium): 38 mins
