Greece is a very mountainous country consisting of a peninsula and about 1400 islands. Greece shares land borders with Bulgaria, Turkey, Albania, and the Republic of Macedonia, and has the tenth longest coastline in the world. It’s no wonder that it’s hard to find a place in Greece that is much more than 100 km from the ocean. The Greek weather is pleasantly warm between April and mid- June but becomes very hot from mid-June to August, cooling off again from September to October. Greece’s coldest and wettest months are from November to February when it is not uncommon to see snow on the mainland and in the mountains. |
