Culture and History of Scotland

Often referring to themselves as the freedom-loving underdogs of the English, the Scottish have naturally set their culture apart from the British, and many aspects of the culture are known worldwide as distinctly Scottish. The modern day Scottish accent and the more traditional cultural icons of kilts and bagpipes are common examples. Scots are commonly hard working, gregarious and friendly, self-deprecating, and proud of their heritage and roots. Living and studying with locals will provide great insight into these great cultural traits
