Attractions in Thailand

With strong cultural beliefs, the Buddhist influences and the picturesque beaches the sights in Thailand seem more amazing every day.

Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok is the most famous and sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand as it houses the admirable Emerald Buddha. This temple does not have housing for monks, like most Buddhist temples, but is quite extravagant with decorations, statues and pagodas.

Ko Chang, or Elephant Island, is the second largest island in Thailand that is very mountainous and filled with waterfalls and rainforest. This island is great for a vigorous hike and exploration of wildlife.

In Phuket you can get a bird’s-eye view of the city by climbing up Khao Rang (Phuket Hill). Possibly more exciting than the sights in Phuket are the activities, which include diving, kayaking, horse riding, yachting and more.

Some other attractions include:

  • Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute, in Bangkok, is a snake farm where tourists can observe where antivenin is prepared from venomous snakes.
  • Dusit Palace Park in Bangkok is a relaxing place to watch traditional Thai dancing, visit the Royal Elephant Museum and see Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall.
  • The Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok is one of the largest markets in Thailand where virtually anything can be found on sale
