Jessica Mew Jessica discovered a love of Scotland during summer 2010. Term Abroad: Summer 2010 Home University: California Lutheran University Host University: University of Stirling International Summer School Major: Psychology My name is Jessica Mew and I participated in the 2010 International Summer School at Stirling University. I had an AMAZING time! The Stirling campus is absolutely gorgeous it has a beautiful loch which is fun to walk around at night or to kayak in. The campus also has a castle and a golf course...what more can you ask for? From our dorm room we could see the Wallace Monument which was a real treat. The classes and the whole experience seemed to focus a lot on Wallace and his importance to Scottish history, I am not big on history, but Scottish history had me hooked. Many of the students took a 3 days tour to the Highlands and we had the most eccentric Scotsman retelling the stories of Wallace, Mary Queens of Scots and the unforgettable Saucy Mary. Stirling University was filled with history and had breathtaking walks. The community was amazing, and I definitely recommend a trip down to the Med to meet other students! |
