 Outside Buckingham Palace

 The London Eye

 Stonehenge

Royal Pavilion in Brighton

Roman baths in Bath

  • Wagamama (quite a few locations, specifically by the Tower of London):

Best if in an adventurous mood. It is considered a “noodle bar” with variations in their dishes such as soy bits and egg. DEFINITELY worth trying! Their motto is positive eating+ positive living. Also, had the opportunity to meet Tom Felton (aka Draco Malfoy) of Harry Potter and get pictures and an autograph. You never know!

  • Frankie’s (at Trafalgar Square across from the National Gallery):

Affordable, good food with daily specials and a variety of foods such as pizza, pasta, shakes and traditional desserts. Good for when homesickness sinks in.

  • Pizza Express (just about everywhere):

Higher end pizzas in term of price but SO good! They are quick and the restaurant is a nice atmosphere to enjoy dinner at.

  • Texas Embassy (Trafalgar Square next to the National Gallery):

Could be considered Tex-Mex but pretty close to Mexican food!

Places to Visit:

  • The British Museum (FREE admission and open every day)

It is a MUST SEE if you’re fascinated with ancient civilizations/history. The displayed artifacts are PRICELESS. A personal favorite: The Ancient Egypt section complete with the original Rosetta Stone. Prepare to begin early in the day because it is a few floors and will take all day. Two of the best and affordable souvenir shops are across the street from the museum as well as several nice restaurants to eat at after visiting the museum.

  • The National Gallery (at Trafalgar Square- FREE admission and open daily)

A HUGE art gallery, the National Gallery is home to over 2,300 paintings in the collection with about 70 rooms. Esteemed artists exhibited include Rembrandt, Vincent Van Gogh, Leonardo Di Vinci and Botticelli. Great place to find unique gifts.

  • Oxford Street

Just about the ultimate shopping experience. An IMMENSE variety of stores, such as Primark (the most affordable London clothes store for men and women). The streets get crowded but is especially nice to see around Christmas when it is decorated with lights.

  • Tip: Leicester Square has good deals on souvenirs.

  • Aim to see a show at the Apollo Theatre

Outside of London:

  • Stonehenge

Although you cannot directly walk through Stonehenge, the site is amazing to behold! Little herds of sheep can be seen along the site.

  • Royal Pavilion (located in Brighton)

Great scenery as well as the historical experience of the Royal Pavillion. It is interesting to see the Indian and Chinese décor and architecture of the Pavillion. The BEST fish and chips is hands down at any of the restaurants there, as it is located on the English Channel.

  • Roman baths (located in Bath)
