Prearranged accommodation while studying abroad is guaranteed for all GlobaLinks Learning Abroad participants attending a semester abroad, academic year abroad, summer abroad, January-term abroad, research abroad, or internship abroad program. The housing options vary by program, location, and university.
Semester Abroad / Academic Year Abroad Programs GlobaLinks Learning Abroad guarantees prearranged accommodation for all semester abroad and academic year abroad programs. Prearranged accommodation may be located on campus in a residence hall (“residential college”) or in an apartment near campus. Housing is available with or without meals depending upon the institution. Arranging your own accommodation upon arrival is also an option in some countries. Summer Abroad or January-Term Abroad Programs
All summer abroad and January-term abroad programs include housing (accommodation) in the fees. Housing varies widely from program to program, but typically would be in either on-campus university dormitories or flats (apartments), motels/hotels, hostels, or some combination of each.
Internship Abroad Programs GlobaLinks Learning Abroad prearranges housing for interns prior to arrival and the housing cost is included in the program fees (meals are not included). Housing for the internship abroad program varies with each intake and the internship locations that we offer. Research Abroad Programs Accommodation is prearranged for research abroad programs. Accommodation is arranged by the host institution and will typically be private rooms with shared kitchen, bathroom and/or shower facilities. The housing is, in most cases, close to the city center and either in walking distance or reachable through public transportation to the university campus.
Degree Abroad Programs GlobaLinks Learning Abroad does not prearrange housing for degree abroad students, however, you will receive adequate advice and information from the university you choose to attend about arranging housing independently. |
