Global Citizenship: The Most Important Competency a Graduate Can Have The new Global Citizen Development modules are online learning components designed to help you explore your study abroad destination and experience at a whole new level. Though not mandatory, the Global Citizen Development modules are included in all GlobaLinks Learning Abroad programs. We strongly encourage your participation as they will introduce you to the opportunities and challenges you may encounter when participating in a study abroad program, as well as expose you to cultural insights and knowledge about your host country to help make your program abroad even more successful and fulfilling. Through the 3 modules, you will refine your skills in cross-cultural observation, adaptation, and communication. Check out this Tour of the Global Citizen Development Online Modules The 3 modules (Before You Leave, While You’re Abroad, Once You Return) are built to give you a comprehensive, self directed learning experience. You can go along at any pace, complete them all, or select the ones you feel are most relevant to your learning needs. The more you put into the modules, the more you will gain. The content of the modules include information from students who have studied abroad, the staff who work with them in North America and abroad, faculty who teach students abroad, and researchers in the field who have developed materials to help students through the process. The modules contain videos, articles, self-guided quizzes, and questions to get you to think about your experience in a variety of ways. We encourage you to journal and document your experiences as you go through the modules so that you can utilize this information for papers, projects, assignments, and ultimately to capture your study abroad experience on your resume. |
