Programs and courses are available in a wide variety of academic areas, giving you the opportunity to further skills in your specific degree of study, or allowing you to pursue a new area of interest. All GlobaLinks Learning Abroad summer and January programs abroad are academic and credit bearing, offering between 3-12 U.S. credits. Academic credits are issued on a transcript from either the host university or a U.S. university that sponsors the course. For programs that have a foreign institution transcript, you can select to receive a transcript for your program from our School of Record, University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, for an additional fee of $350. University-based Summer School Programs Several of our partner universities offer "summer school" programs for international students. With these programs, you choose from a variety of classes that are on offer, and you live on campus with other students. Depending on the program, you will take 1-3 classes during your stay. Throughout the program, the host university provides field trips and optional excursions to help you explore the country and immerse into the local culture. With this format, students and faculty travel to relevant locations around the host country to maximize learning in an applied setting. For example, a course in marine science will travel to a variety of research stations along the Great Barrier Reef to represent the diversity of marine ecosystems. This experiential learning model provides intensive and hands-on learning in fascinating locations and with local experts. View list of programs> |
