Programs Available: The University of Sevilla was founded in the beginning of 16th century and is one of the largest and oldest universities in Spain. With a student population of 70,000 approximately and 2,000 international students the university is an ideal academic institution for interacting with local Spaniards since both Spanish and foreign students share buildings and other facilities. The university is very centrally located and the main building where our students will attend classes was centuries ago the Royal Tobacco Factory, which served as the backdrop of the opera Carmen. The University of Sevilla offers programs to American students through its Cursos Concertados con Universidades Extranjeras. Established in 1972 Cursos Concertados have a long tradition teaching international students. Many courses are for students with high intermediate and advanced level of Spanish; however, there are also a good variety of courses taught in English for students who do not have that level of Spanish. Courses taught at Cursos Concertados are related to the academic disciplines of the Colleges of Philology, Geography, and History. It is a very complete program of Liberal Arts courses taught by Spanish and international faculty. Business, Economics, and Marketing courses are also offered in Spanish and English. The University of Sevilla is recognized and accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Education as a degree-granting institution of higher learning. |
